Salsaville Dance Studios Denver

Salsaville Dance Studios offers new weekly dance classes starting at the beginning of every month here in Denver, Colorado.

Directed by Colorado’s world-renowned salsa dance instructor, Eric 'El Cubanito' Freeman, Salsaville offers every level of salsa dancing from the absolute "scared-to-try" beginner through the super-advanced dancer. We usually run four to six courses each month. Since we have most levels running each month, you can easily progress through the classes and be out dancing like a pro quickly. We teach all the major styles of salsa: Latin American style, New York style, Los Angeles style and Cuban style.

No previous experience is required to join our salsa dancing classes. All you need are regular comfortable street clothes, some non-stick shoes, and a willingness to learn, have fun, and meet new people! Come join the hundreds of other satisfied Salsaville students who have learned salsa dancing from us since 1999, and have gone on to make dancing a major part of their lives.

Along with our regular weekly classes, we also hold monthly or bi-monthly dance socials & dance parties held at different venues. The cost is just $8 per person for each event.

Private Lessons

$80 for one hour for one person or one couple.

Package prices (for one person or one couple):

3 lesson package: $75 per hour for three one-hour lessons ($225)
5 lesson package: $70 per hour for five one-hour lessons ($350)
10 lesson package: $65 per hour for ten one-hour lessons ($650)

Call for prices for private classes (more than one couple) or any other special arrangement.

For women taking private lessons, I normally dance with you the whole time and constantly provide you with feedback.

For men taking private lessons from me, there are three choices:

You and I dance. Some men are fine with this, others are not. Sometimes this is good, as I can give you direct feedback on your leading skills.
Bring a partner to dance with. However, if you want the lesson to focus on your dancing, then this partner should be at least your level or higher so that you can progress as quickly as possible.
I supply you with an excellent dance partner for the lesson. This will be one of my paid assistants. This way, we can focus exclusively on your dancing skills and you can get feedback from both of us. There is an extra charge of $10-$15 per hour for this.

Private lessons are recommended for:

learning faster than group classes
learning material taught from a missed class
learning material from a class level that you would consider too easy but need in order to advance to the next level (for example if you have a good feel for dancing and think the beginner class would go too slow for you, you could take one lesson to learn the stuff taught in the beginner class and then be ready to take the intermediate class.)
cleaning up any bad habits you may have (in the group classes there is very little time to work on individual bad habits that are not directly related to doing the move currently being taught.)
dancing with someone with whom you don't have to compensate for their bad habits

Recommended Music for Practicing and Listening

Getting an ear for the music is as important as learning the dance steps themselves. The more time spent listening to the music the better. Whether you are cooking, cleaning, or even jogging, it is good to get this music "into your blood."

The following is a short list of recommended CDs for the above purpose. There are thousands of CDs of Latin music. Since I always get asked what CDs are good for practicing and listening, here is a short list:
