September 2005 Cuban Casino Intro Class
This is an introduction to the fundamentals of Cuban Casino taught at the
intermediate level (for people with at least two months of regular salsa
classes.)
Review:
- Son Move: Walk around man (going CW) in 4 measures (two
counts of 8) with guy moving a little to R
- DileQueNo with extra windup (1/4 extra woman turn to L)
and then woman walks around man
- Vacilala
- Hecho (Vacilala, but led)
- and then walk around man
- and then Exhibela
- and then Pasaela
- there is a “code” involved is doing this
move and any “wide-open” DileQueNo.
- Exhibela
- From closed position
- Released exhibela (woman comes back on her own)
- Paseala – woman does footwork of 2 DileQueNo’s
(going CCW around M) and man turns around to R between DileQueNo’s
- DileQueNo as upside down “L” with woman
holding on to forearm
- Walking DileQueNo – R-R hands in shake hand. Guy
always moving to R and to far side of woman during 1,2,3.
- Exercise: control on1 R foot of woman after a DileQueNo. Leader
should be able to get woman to:
- Step back
- Step in place
- Step forward
- Exercise: Guys leaving out various steps (part of
Improvisation)
- Do DileQueNo’s and guy just steps on3 (L foot) and
on 7 (R foot)
- Leaving out almost all steps and lead woman around
various places
